Welcome. We wish you all the very best for the Season –and safe travelling, if you are travelling (we hope not to spread Covid-19!). A very big thank you for your support during the year!  You have been loyal customers and friends.

What a year! We're sure we aren't alone in looking forward to the end of 2021! We wish you and your loved ones a happy, safe, and festive season. And a more prosperous 2022!

Our offices will be closed on all the upcoming public holidays. We will also officially be closed for the week between the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays, but you will be able to find us if you have an emergency.

For the Festive Season, we have some special deals for you and –somewhere in the newsletter– valuable free gifts you can download.

Our eShop has good deals for you on Autodesk subscriptions.

Want an important folder to appear first in an alphabetical list? See the Business tip below,

Our Excel for Engineers self-paced course is still at a special price.

In the latest Excel Tip in our long-running series, we get ready to wrap up the basic coding part of the macros course.

We end with computer wisdom (or not) from Computius.

Autodesk 3-year Subscription Discount Extended to January 7, 2022

Greedy Autodesk announced in May 2021 that we must decrease the discount on 3-year subscriptions starting November 7, 2021. However, due to customer demand and to allow you more time to take advantage of this offer, they are generously extending the current discount of approximately 10%* on 3-year subscriptions to January 7, 2022.

Starting January 7, the discount on 3-year subscriptions will reduce from approximately 10% to 5%. By choosing a 3-year term, you already benefit from 3 years at the same price. With this change, you will continue to get this price security, but at a lower discount.

This change will affect Customers who buy new 3-year subscriptions or renew existing ones after 7 January.

Next step for you, before 7 January:

Excel Tip #205 – Basic Coding 18: Looping the Loop III: Repeating Code

In the  last issue, we got the macro to run repeatedly until it gets to the bottom of the list, using a Loop: The While ... Wend Loop.  Now we will look briefly at other types of loops that are available to us. We don’t cover them on this course, but there are three other types of loop:

For ... Next
For Each ... Next
Do ... Loop

The latter comes in four variations:

Do While condition ... Loop
Do Until condition ... Loop
Do ... Loop While condition
Do ... Loop Until condition

Next year we will sum up our learning in the Basic Coding section of Excel Macros.

Finish Covid-19 Lockdown with a Timesaving New Skill!

Instead of a tiny sliver every month (as above), why not do the whole Excel Macros online course?  Do repetitive work in a flash, instead of repeating the same boring stuff manually.  Save hours not working late, and spend more time with your family...  The Software Africa Quick 'n Easy Turbo-Start Excel Macros course is now online.  Take it now and avoid the inevitable price rises in the New Year.
